Travel to Malaysia

Today Assistant Minister for Climate Change and Energy Josh Wilson will travel to Malaysia representing Minister for Climate Change and Energy Chris Bowen for meetings with ASEAN energy and climate ministers and business groups.

The visit will advance Australia’s climate and energy policy priorities that are aimed at seizing the enormous economic opportunities presented by acting on climate change, while demonstrating our country’s continued engagement in the region’s energy transition.

In Kuala Lumpur, Assistant Minister Wilson will deliver remarks at the ASEAN East Asian Summit Energy Ministers’ Meeting and address a business forum focused on cooperation with ASEAN to support the energy transition across the region.

He will attend the ASIA Zero Emissions Community Ministerial Meeting to advance the uptake of renewable energy and emissions reduction.

He will also address a business breakfast with Malaysian business representatives, hosted by the Australian High Commission.

Assistant Minister Wilson will return on Saturday 18 October.
