The Australian and Queensland governments have welcomed Professor Margaret Sheil AO as the incoming Chair of the Reef 2050 Independent Expert Panel.

The Albanese Labor Government will invest more than $300,000 to study Indigenous environmental knowledge about the connections between land, sea and sky, with a particular focus on whales.

Following a successful tender process, the Albanese Labor Government has now recovered an additional 26.25 GL of water towards the Murray-Darling Basin Plan – equivalent to 10,500 Olympic-size swimming pools returned to the river system every year.
